Halloween is all about spontaneous fun, right? So, I dyed a spontaneous, fun colorway in orange, green, purple, and gray. It’s called Trick or Treat Yourself, after the small event I participated in this weekend (and dyed the yarn for).
It is a non-repeatable colorway, so I didn’t write down any formulas. Therefore, I can’t dye any minis for an exact match, but if you’d like a mini to go with it, I’d suggest a light or dark gray, which I’d be glad to dye for you. (Details in listing)
I also have a few semi-solid skeins on Corriedale Sock (top) or a Polwarth or Corriedale DK.
My primary love is patterned socks in semi-solid yarn, so if you’d like to see more skeins like this, please let me know! Corriedale sock is also great for mittens!
The DK yarns have many potential uses. Polwarth is quite soft, and Corriedale is very nice too - and sturdy.
Have you knit a Clapotis (a drop stitch scarf and one of the first viral knitting patterns)? It is celebrating its 20th anniversary and Knitty is holding a Clapotisfest in its honor!! There is a FO gallery and many prizes.
I’ve never knit one and am considering which yarn to use to cast on ASAP. There are many projects in self striping yarn, which is fascinating because the stripes intersect the lines of the dropped stitches in a captivating way. (There is a KAL thread on Ravelry too).
Are you thinking of participating?? I’d love to see what you do.
Thanks so much for your interest in our shop. There will be more news soon, as we jump back into yarn now that the farmers’ market season is over. We’ll be restarting preorders on past club colorways, and Bill has big plans for a yarn colorway that connects to the Battvent story he’s writing (it may be an entire universe by the time he’s done).
Here are a couple of photos of our baking from Saturday’s event. It was so autumnal!! And, I had to eat about 7 leftover pumpkin donuts (don’t worry! They’re made with whole grain, honey, and our own Butternut squash). I’m also an expert now at buttering and sugaring Apple Cider Donuts…
Until next time, be well, friends!
I love the yarn. It is very Halloween-y! Your baked goods made me hungry!
