I recently learned some things about dyeing speckles, and I kinda want to put them on everything now! We’re going to start with a seasonal stripe that looks like the promise of spring flowers under blue skies. A Glimpse of Spring is one of four colorways available for preorder today. It is so cheerful! The weather on the farm has been altering between gray bleh and beautiful, cool sunshine - but this yarn is all happiness, all the time!
Last year’s Nature club colorway, Sandhill Crane, is also newly available. Club members wrote to me with stories about their encounters with this impressive birds, and it’s clear they leave an impression! We enjoy hearing them fly over the farm twice a year. The yarn has a gray gradient and stripes of bright red, purple, ivory, and brick.
There are also two colors from the archives….though one was mysteriously never offered before. Rose Month was a Little Known Holiday shipment from 2021. It’s a soft gradient with a few bold stripes that creates a gentle pattern.
Finally, we have Loafing Around – a tribute to the bread we bring to our summer farmers’ markets. It is nearly time to start baking (and eating) warm bread. The stripes in this yarn honor both our healthy options (spelt sourdough), and the indulgent ones (brioche!).
These four yarns are available for preorder at KnitSpinFarm.com through March 20 on your choice of yarn base – with or without coordinating mini skeins.
A note on Corriedale!! At this time, I am unable to purchase Corriedale yarn on cones, so it is not available as an option for this update. Over the past few months I have noticed that the qualities of Corriedale have changed a bit, and I’ll be asking for your opinion about it soon – but if you have any comments in the meantime, please let me know! (It seems softer and thicker to me than it was previously and I’m having a difficult time telling it apart from our Targhee Fingering after it is dyed.)
I love the other yarn bases we offer. Targhee is an excellent and durable yarn that is quite soft, but still resilient. Our merino yarn is made from US wool and is a bouncy, bouncy 4 ply. It is thicker than many of the other merino bases I’ve encountered. If you have any questions, you can contact me at jsmoskal@gmail.com. Also, if there’s a colorway you love, but having it on Corriedale is a must for you, please send me a note and I’ll see what we can do.
Thank you so much for your interest in our tiny shop! Your support means so much to us, and I hope you know how much we appreciate you.
Gorgeous color combos!
