I am ready for wool weather!! Are you, too?? The yarn preorders available this month celebrate fall, but also hang on to a bit of summer.
First is a brand new colorway: Apple Cider Donuts
The weather turned warm again in Indiana, after teasing us with some very chilly nights that had the sheep (and the humans) very, very excited and energetic. To console myself for the increasing temps, I dyed the fall-est fall colorway I could. It’s got browns and orangey browns, and just a bit of green for that early fall feel. Apple Cider Donuts is now available for preorder on all our yarn bases!
Also newly available is last year’s yarn club colorway, National Chocolate Day!
This yarn has thick and thin stripes of chocolate and things that go well with chocolate. This is one of my favorite pairs of socks! I used a mini for heels, toes, and long cuffs, and I slipped every other stitch in the color transition between the thick stripes. I love my socks on our 100% Non-Superwash Merino (US grown) - I pulled these out of my drawer tonight for this photo, after wearing them all last winter and they still look great. If you prefer a Superweash wool, and/or yarn with nylon, we’ve got a bunch to choose from.
For those of you still hanging on to summer, I’ve had a few requests to offer “More Flowers, Less Lawn” by The Bees. This was a Barnyard Collaborations colorway inspired by a pollinator mix of flowers we planted for our bees.
It is vibrant, and fun, and you will not get bored knitting - or wearing - it!
Lastly, Collect Rocks Day was also requested, and I’m glad for the chance to dye it again. Our rock collection grows every summer (mostly from pulling them out of our garden), and I love this colorway. I made a Sockhead hat from it, and it goes with everything!
All these yarns are available for preorder now! Pick any base you’d like. Add a mini or two. Choose cranking and we’re glad to make the tube for you, so you just have to add heels, toes, and cuffs.
Thank you so much for your interest in our shop and farm updates! We are winding down for the summer - canning some tomatoes and stacking wood. This week we went to visit a friend, and Bill volunteered to help socialize some of her barn kittens. Every one was his favorite!
Be well, wool lovers! Autumn is coming!!!
